An Exercise to Encourage You to Dream

The Dream Dream Dream Exercise is a simple and fun exercise that will
help you get clear about your dreams and what you want for your future.
This exercise is best done with a partner, friend or family member. So
make a date, grab a coffee, go for dinner. Make it a social occasion!
Let’s get the creative dream juices flowing! (Just start the exercise
and you will be surprised how quickly idea and dreams will come out.) And
remember, HAVE FUN with it!
The 20-Minute Dream Exercise
Set a timer for 20 minutes and start to make the following lists of what
you want to accomplish in your lifetime:
- at least 20 things you want to do
- at least 20 things you want to have
- at least 20 things you want to be
Talk out loud with your partner, friend or family member. Borrow from your
partner with pride! Write what you come up (
Download the dream worksheet here.). Make sure that each person does the exercise.
If you are doing this with your family, do the exercise for each person,
compare them, and then come up with new dreams as a family.
Some Areas of Your Life to Look at:
- Family, relationships
- money, career or work, business
- home, leisure time
- health and fitness
- community
- goals
- religion or spirituality
- Travel
- Creativity and hobbies
- Education
- Kids and your goals for them
- Volunteer work
Remember there are no wrong answers! Be as crazy, silly or as impossible as
you want! Don’t worry about achieving any of these things! You are not
making promises. Just think, fantasize and dream!
Remember that you want to figure out what your dreams are so you know what
you are working towards with your
money management plan.
