Quick and Tasty Mustard Beans and Kielbasa

by Lisa
(Virginia)

This recipe will take almost no time, and everyone in your family will love the tangy taste! Chop one small onion while heating a splash of olive oil in a large saucepan. Heat the onion in the oil, over medium heat, for about five minutes or until the onion is tender.

Open a package of kielbasa and slice the meat to 1/4" thickness. Turkey kielbasa is the healthiest choice. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with foil and put into an oven preheated at 375 degrees. Allow these to cook for approximately twenty minutes, flipping the slices over after ten minutes.

While the kielbasa is cooking, pour a family-sized can of baked beans into the saucepan on top of the onion. Stir in a teaspoon of prepared mustard.

Allow the cooked kielbasa to cool for about five minutes and then carefully dump the slices into your saucepan. Mix the kielbasa with the beans and onions, then allow all to cook over medium heat for ten minutes. Serve with vegetables on the side, or even roll into a tortilla for a fun wrap. This total process only takes about thirty minutes!
