Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness is a great book that deals with the myths and your beliefs about money. He never promises a quick fix to your money problems, and he gives you a straightforward plan to get out of debt and live the life you want.

I usually recommend this book to people who ask me for a good book about money management, but I do warn them that Dave Ramsey teaches with Christian undertones. Not that I have anything against that, just that some people may be surprised when they hear him speak or read his material.

The book is full of testimonials of everyday people that actually make his system work. He gives you a step by step plan to get out of debt and never to get into debt again.

Some of his strategies are a little too rigid for most people. But if you follow his plan it will work.
